Participants showed significant improvement in their understanding and preparedness to meet the financial, emotional, and logistical costs of REI and child-rearing (p < 0.01). Knowledge of surgeon infertility statistics and peer engagement also significantly increased (p < 0.01).

Participants became significantly more knowledgable of the cost and expectations of having an infant or toddler increased (p < 0.01).

Our peer engagement and mentorship intervention improved participant career role-success rating with the average participant moving up one point on a four-point Thriving-to-Crisis Scale. A significant improvement in work-life balance was also observed following the event.
